Coach Reed

Head XC Coach, Girls and Distance Track – Robert Reed

Coach Reed is entering his seventh full season as the Head Cross Country Coach at Plano East.  He also serves as the Girl’s Head Track & Field Coach and oversees the boys’ distance runners in the spring.

Before Plano East, Reed spent three years as an Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach at Texas A&M University–Commerce.  He was a member of the A&M-Commerce Cross Country and Track teams from 2006-2011.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology & Sports Studies.

A native of Sachse, TX – Reed graduated from Sachse High School in 2006.  He currently lives in Princeton with his wife, Kaitlyn, and their two kids, Greyson and McKenna.

Coach Bannister

Head Track & Field Coach – Jonathan Bannister

Coach Bannister, a native of Plano, is a 2002 Plano East Senior High graduate.  He is entering his seventh season as Head Track & Field Coach and Assistant Cross Country Coach for Plano East.  He also serves as the Girl’s Assistant Track & Field Coach, overseeing the sprints/hurdles/relays.  

Before Plano East, Coach Bannister volunteered his time with track & field programs including Murphy Middle School, Plano West Senior High School, The Hockaday School, and the Plano Sports Authority (PSA) Cheetahs.

Coach Bannister was a four-time All-American and two-time conference Athlete of the Year while attending Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville Track team from 2004-2007.  He was inducted into the Great Lakes Valley Conference Hall of Fame for his accomplishments on the track.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a Master of Science degree in Sports Management.  He is also a USATF Level 2 certified coach in sprints/hurdles/relays as well as long distance.
